Today's 3rd and final Play Off sees Morecambe go head to head with Newport at Wembley for the right to ply their trade in League One next season. Newport have beaten Morecambe on both occasions this season, but Morecambe finished the season in slightly better form. For either side, it would be a bit of a fairy tale. Morecambe have the lowest wage bill of any of the 92 football league clubs, while Newport have the oldest player in the football league in Kevin Ellison. He doesn't start but will most likely play some part in the match. I firmly believe both sides will score and, while my colours are firmly nailed to the Shrimps' mast, Newport are slight favs. So my bets are;

£5 BTTS & Morecambe win @ 11/2
£5 Free bet BTTS & Newport win @ 11/2
£2 Free bet Morecambe 2-1 @ 10/1

Very poor final, grumpy. Beats me why teams desert their usual way of playing when they get to Wembley. And a ref can only call what he sees (or thinks he sees) not what he doesn't see. Wonder just how many dodgy decisions helped Newport get where they were today?

What you on about ken?
Newport were denied a very clear pen. Morecambes pen was very dodgy, very clearly outside the penalty area.

I totally agree, piggy, both decisions were 'dodgy' but the lower leagues do not have VAR so they have to rely on what the officials see. As for my remark, what i meant, was, i wonder how many dodgy decisions throughout the season actually went Newport's way, enabling them to finish as high as they did. Every team has had 'dodgy decisions' in their favour and against them. The Sun produced evidence recently that without the interference of VAR, Arsenal would have qualified for the CL? Just the luck of the draw.
