Exactly my point, tiggs! No one has come out with whether there has been a covid jump to the wider ape species in all of this. If it has, it wouldn't surprise me.

Other than cats and dogs have any other species been tested for covid? Particularly in zoos where there may be close contact with humans.

I think zoos have been aware of the danger and avoided any close contact.

I belive that one great ape (think gorilla) was shown to be carrying virus after one of its keepers became ill with covid, but I don't think any animal apart from the Danish mink has been shown to be actually infected.

Oh yeah, forgot about those poor minks! Were they all culled?

It was an interesting one. Yes they were all killed. Denmark as a country has wanted to stop its mink farming for a long time but apparently the government wouldn't legislate. When the virus variant was found though it was an excellent excuse and the mink industry is now gone.

The German response to vaccinations has been criticized, but fair do's, I've just got one (Moderna), booked online for Tuesday morning.

Maddeningly though, I can't seem to book one for Mrs K. because we only have one mobile phone between us & as the number was used to send the confirmation code, the system thinks it's already booked.
