The service frequented by far right fanatics, Neo Nazis and violent white supremacists was shut down last week. The planning of the Capitol riot was done on Parler.

At least 14 Conservative MPs, including several ministers, cabinet minister Michael Gove and a number of prominent Tory commentators joined Parler, the social media platform favoured by the far right that was forced offline last week for hosting threats of violence and racist slurs.

This should be an embarrassing scandal. But it won’t be. No one will be surprised. As long as Gove and Co are loyal to the leader they are secure in their jobs.

Parler seems to be inhabited by right-wing fascists.Twitter by left-wing fascists. As Orwell said in the last chapter of Animal Farm, the creatures on the outside looked in and saw the left-wingers(Napoleon and the rest of the pigs)and farmer Smith and his right wing friends meld into each other.Have you ever heard about the Horseshoe effect, sunk?

P/P @ 17.44, You wouldn't be taking the pea out of John Bull would you.
Of course that by itself does not condemn them.
I use Twitter occasionally but it doesn’t make me a fan of Donald Trump.
I’m shedding no tears for Parler and certainly not for Trump’s ban, but it’s noteworthy that all these bans are instigated by the social media platforms themselves.
Are they too powerful?
Just being on parler does not mean anything... I would be surprised if gove had anything to do with it. Probably some bright spark on his social media team with egg on their face now!

Parler, ahh, another new word to add to my expanding vocabulary
If a lot of normal, moderate people joined Parler it would not be an extreme right wing platform, in the same way as if a lot of BAME people joined the BNP.
The old joke was that over half the membership of some extreme left parties in the UK was actually infiltrators spying on the party
I'm not on Parler (find it very amusing that the reporters pronounce it as 'parlour'), but I do know someone who is and he most certainly not a fascist, although he is on the right wing. He is also not a far-right supremacist or any of the other slurs mentioned in the OP. In fact the whole thrust of the post seems to be to drive any divergent views underground. Never a wise move.
