Has anyone bought from Argos during lockdown and picked it up from one of their stores that isn't inside a supermarket? I've to do this tomorrow but I've no idea what I'm supposed to do.Usually you just go in and up to the counter and show them the collection number on your phone, but I don't think it will be like that now.

It will be no different. Just remember to wear a mask
I wouldn;t have thought it any different, as Barry says wear a mask
I have - no problem. There's usually a staff member directing you.

Yes, I 'll wear a mask, but I was just wondering about whether you actually go into the shop as a friend of mine ordered something from Next, and I think she said they bring your parcel out to you. Anyway, I'll find out tomorrow. I'm one of those people who likes to know exactly where I'm going and what's expected of me, so I find it hard to cope with changes. Thanks for your answers.
Yes, picked something up a couple of weeks ago. Arrived at the branch, staff on the door directed us via some barriers to dedicated collection point, collected item and left, all 1 way system.

ubasses at what point do you show them your collection code on your phone?
When we got to the counter, they asked us at the door but did not request to see it. Probably so they knew which way to direct us.

I have an order from Argos and an order from ebay to collect at Argos. Usually have to go to 2 different places because the numbers are different but, if they have someone on the door to explain, it should be ok.
Yes, you should be OK, they were very friendly.
Question Author
Thanks ubasses, I feel reassured now.
I can't be the only one that is finding everything so much easier during lockdown? More staff everywhere bending over backwards to direct, advise, help out.
No waiting at hospital or doctor's - straight in and out.
Question Author
barry yes, not having to wait long at the hospital and docs is great.Nothing has changed for me going to the supermarket and i used to do click and collect or delivery in the year BC (before covid!) but I haven't been to any of the other shops yet so I didn't know what you have to do . Sounds like it should be ok, as long as I don't have to queue outside in the rain. :-)
