My neighbour and I had to take 2 South African Ridge backs into kennels today. Neighbour said she would walk them for a week,that date was up yesterday, and got text to say the owner was coming home on Thursday now, so decided to put them into kennels. Although they are chipped we didn't know when they had last vaccination, kennels would not take them without vaccination certificate, so had to go to vets first to get their jabs and certificate. Then to Kennels but at least they will be walked and fed. We had to pay upfront, owner will get bill and an earful when she gets home.

No she is just not on. The owner is just being irresponsible they are powerful dogs, but doceill

^^^^ but docile my neighbour has work commitments this week so could not walk them. Owner is just being irresponsible expecting us to be good Samaritans while she extends her holiday on a whim. Can only contact owner on facebook, she hasn't responded.

That is awful... poor dogs :-(. Unless it is an emergency, there is really no excuse...

I don't know Lynne, but at end of the day they could not stay in current conditions, but they will be looked after, a recommended kennels in the middle of nowhere.

i think the owner just uses them for breeding purposes, but they are both fit and got vets ok but just had to have jabs before kennel would take them in, which is understandable from kennel owners, but they are together and settled really quickly. My neighbours husband will not be happy, but he's working in States till the end of the month.
