No. I'm superior to everyone else.
Believe in equality?

Do you mean, do i want equality, or is there equality in the UK?

Equality will never work whilst people get benefits, whilst i work and don't get any. That's not equality, it's equity.
"whilst i work"

That bought a smile to my face :-)
But that's your social contract, that as one doing well one contributes into the pool to aid those who aren't. That's a separate issue. If the benefit earners got a job then they'd pay in as you do now. If you lose yours and have difficulties you would be entitled to benefits as they are now. Because you are equal.
Yes, and equality, everyone would get the same amount of money and benefits. Because that would be equal.

In reality, we live in a system of equity. Equality has never been a thing, and never will be. An ideology which would never work.. because people aren't equal. There it is, i said it.
Equality = socialism.
Do I believe in equality? Most definitely not!

It is both the right and the duty of the rich to oppress the poor and of the strong to enslave the weak.

I don't see why those that do nothing to help themselves are entitled to free money from me, when I've been schlepping my sorry a5se up to London for the past 30 years to do the best that I can, reap the benefits of my toil, and to provide the best life I can for me and mine.

The EUSSR manifesto in a sentence.

For all you know spaf might have a contract to cut Jim's grass @ £5 a blade.
On the contrary spath, equal does not mean identical. You'd have equal opportunity, but need not achieve the same result. Equal right to the same benefits when in the same situation, equal rights to chose between differently paid jobs that each are capable of doing.
//Equality = socialism. //

Try socialism - and find out just how equal it is.
^ It is equal, but some are more equal than others :)
:o)
A sentence that never made sense.
Equality of opportunity. Not equality of outcome.
I see a "serious" debate has started without any attempt to define the issue being argued about, namely "equality".

Quite so.
I suspect even Margaret Hodge hadn’t even given it proper thought when she spoke out.
By “equality” (which DOES mean “being the same”) she meant “treating people the same regardless of background etc. That probably comes closer to “equity”
‘She “probably” meant’ I should have said

VE: //"I see a "serious" debate has started without any attempt to define the issue being argued about, namely "equality".// - the debate is about the Labour party and whether, if you tend towards that area, it is the party for you. Equality is not possible, the world is not fair, but certain political entities use the subject to define their aims and stance. Labour has in the past been favoured for that trait. The OP is about whether they still can claim they are indeed trying to equalise society. recent evidence suggests they are not.
