Down: 20. Bug beginning to move, taking left turn above board (6) ?a?f?y. Looks like mayfly but why?

26a Loan (advance) - "lone"; single, heard (?)
20d Lawful (above board) - 'flaw' (bug, beginning to move) + 'u (turn) l(eft)' (?)
Actually, on reflection 26a might be better the other way round -

Lone (single, heard in) "loan"
Sorry, was on the phone - as you were, the first parse (loAn) allows for your 'A' to be correct :-)
