Is It Possible To Store And Run Sample Libraries Straight Off A Nas?

Hi, I mainly use my computer for creating music and the storage is near full. I have quite a large amount of virtual instruments/sample libraries and I was wondering if it is possible to store and run these libraries straight off a NAS. I know I could get an external hard drive but then I would end up with multiple hard drives. From my understanding with a NAS you can add drives when more storage is needed.
Also, what would be the best option to connect the NAS to the computer USB or ethernet?

Yes definitely. Put simply, Network Attached Storage is a big hard drive that connects to your router. They make it easy to access your music, movies, photos and documents anywhere at all times. One of the most popular reasons to buy an NAS drive is for media playback. Connect via Ethernet, obviously.
