Last Thursday I printed the clue: "Stop counting the steps and follow in the steps of the poet." The answer was an anagram of - AMCETOSONRDD.

I have since found out from my older, wiser brother the answer is

Caedmons Fort - Its a memorial erected in 1898 to England's first known poet.
Sorry for giving such an obscure clue and thanks for everyone's help and patience!

An ABer posted that answer - I remember seeing it.
Was it not - Caedmons Trod as was answered on your thread ?
Sorry, I've since looked back and the answer given was different!
It is CAEDMON'S TROD Donaldinho.
The path that leads up to Whitby abbey is called 'Caedmon's trod', alongside it runs the 199 steps that people count on the way up - (hence the clue - 'Stop counting the steps and follow... the poet').
I tried to get Donald's attention to your answer, but alas - no response Maisie.
Agree with The Prof - it can't be 'Fort' anyway - there isn't an 'F' in the anagram letters
Thank you Mamyalynne - I have a feeling he's going to miss it again!

Are you there Donaldinho? I think you're from the area, so you've probably walked that way up to the abbey a few times.
You're quite right Captain2.
