24a Army’s revolutionary
command (5,4). Answer appears to be “about face”. Is it just me, or is that a bad clue? I had “about turn” which I felt was more accurate?

About face is an army command to turn
Importantly about face means to change your opinion (revolutionary) whereas about turn doesn't.
Oxford Living Dictionaries recognises 'about-face' as the US equivalent of 'about-turn'
https://en.oxforddictionaries.com/definition/about-turn
but the full OED seems content to accept the term as part of British English:

In all my time in the army I never once heard anybody give the command 'about face', always 'about turn'.
