Welcome to Title Builder Beta.

This small piece of kit is designed to make building your Quiz, Crossword or Puzzle question more effective. It should make finding your question easier for others and, the easier it is to find, the more likely someone is to answer it!

To build an easy to find question title simply select the paper and quiz, enter the quiz number if relevant and fill in the Publication Date. Once you’re happy click “Build Title” and the information should populate the Title field. Fill in the final required details of your question as you normally would, and click submit.

As this is a Beta we only have a limited number of papers and quizzes listed. If you think your favourite Quiz, Crossword or Puzzle should be listed here don’t hesitate to contact us.

Remember: You do not have to use the title builder - simply enter the title and question as you normally would and click submit!

, I've also got 15, 26 & 28 and the friend. BUT cannot get 1 across even after googling for hours - a big hint would help!

38 across: Fish right to regroup during watch for seabird (12)

Thanks,. Ripper. There's a usual five letter 'fish' (verb) inside a fairly usual word for 'watch' (noun, one that's worn). I can't work out where my other letter came from - but the whole thing is definitely a bird!

The letter after Fish is the rightmost letter of regroup, I believe.

Ripper, the letters in the checked squares in the top line spell out what saladdodger mentioned at the start of this thread. Once you have the theme, you just follow the instruction in the preamble - The Gas Man: 'I must be substituted...'

Good morning all! I got up at 5.00 and now, thanks to you all have nearly completed it!
A few questions 27 down: Seems fine to puncture dead person's reputation (5)I think I have to enter SKOOL there? because I think 31 across is STARKLY (can't fathom the word play) 30 down I have as FLUTE and 24 down as STOPPER (which is a demonstrator, but the wordplay 'drops from the sky has beaten me! Also I assume it's a 7 letter word, not 6 ?)
