12a Stick around numbers in form of shed, say (4,5) PAST TENSE. So it's PASTE around TENS, but why the "form of shed, say"?

shed is an example of the past tense- the snake shed it's skin?
its not it's.
The trees shed their leaves last October, is a better example. Shed can also be present tense though.
