I've finished the rest of it, but I'm drawing a complete blank on the top left-hand corner.

(1A): Finishes with a Damien, Desmond, or Douglas (9)

(12A): Like our canines, can get bored (9)

Obviously, there's more, but if I can get one or both of these, that should give me sufficient letters for the rest.

any letters placed?
1A. graduates
12a something 'teeth' ??
Question Author
No letters, no.

@JohnnyAlpha How do you parse that? (Beyond the definition, of course)
12A drillable
Question Author
"Backteeth" (As in "Bored to the...")? I don't really like it as one word, but it more or less fits.
Damien, Desmond & Douglas are idioms for degrees.
1a slang terms for degree grades - Hirst (first), Tutu (2:2), Hurd (third).
slang for °s 1st-damien hirst 2/2-desmond tutu 3rd-douglas hird
Question Author
OK, yeah. GRADUATES and DRILLABLE have given me the letters for the rest, even if I can't follow either of them.
Question Author
Ah. As a non-academic, that completely passed me by. Thanks!
Those names are slang terms for grades of degree graduates get- Damien Hirst = fist, Desmond (tutuu) is a 2:2, Douglas (Hurd) = third
Sorry- the latest post on my screem was the 10:10 one - the autorefresh doesn't seem to work properly
On my screen there is abig gap of 4cm between the 10:14 post and the 10:19 one so I have to tab down to see it.
Is there a reason for the gap? Maybe some see a big advert there
I have a gap but not a huge one
Question Author
Yeah, I've got an advert there. You're not missing anything, I promise.
Thanks Toorak and Orthrus- I must remember to tab right to the bottom
