13D Stabbed by twisting daggers, first of victims is murdered in book 6,4

On another site I have seen this answered as VILE BODIES with the explanation 'Anagram OBELI V DIES

Sorry if I sound thick but, apart from the V where does the anagram come from? Its not in the actual clue?

Daggers - Obeli
First of victims -V
Is murdered - Dies
vile bodies
Twisting - anagram indicator
It's not an anagram, as "obeli V" 'twisting', ie reversed, gives VILE BO, and then + dies.
apologies

Thank you for the explanations.
Jim's right I did parse it wrong...

First of victims - V
Stabbed (inclusion) by twisting daggers - Obeli, back - ILEBO
Is murdered - Dies
Obeli = daggers in printing
With respect to all above, to be nitpicky, it's actually -

'v(ictims) + dies' (stabbed by; containing) 'obeli' (daggers, twisting)
Oops, I should have refreshed, apologies Mamya :-)
If you can't be nit-picky in a crossword thread, though, when *can* you be?
Is it bedtime yet? :-)
I'll pour a night cap ;-)
I came on to ask for an explanation for "Vile Bodies" (I read it recently!) and here it is. Thank you.

I have another query as well please.
"Arrange to keep a newborn from among many in litter."
From the letters I have the answer seems to be Palanquin and I see the litter bit. It's just the rest I don't get. Can someone guide me please?
steven
Arrange - Plan
Keeping a - includes a - Palan
One of many newborn - Quin
Hi Steven - nice to see you back :-)

Palanquin - 'plan' (to keep) 'a' + 'quin' (newborn from among many)
Thank you sir!
Both for the welcome (i missed you all!) and for the help. I see it now.
SWMBO was pleased with me for keeping to the Lenten promise

Keep on her good side Steven :-)
Oh believe me , I shall try!!!
