Welcome to Title Builder Beta.

This small piece of kit is designed to make building your Quiz, Crossword or Puzzle question more effective. It should make finding your question easier for others and, the easier it is to find, the more likely someone is to answer it!

To build an easy to find question title simply select the paper and quiz, enter the quiz number if relevant and fill in the Publication Date. Once you’re happy click “Build Title” and the information should populate the Title field. Fill in the final required details of your question as you normally would, and click submit.

As this is a Beta we only have a limited number of papers and quizzes listed. If you think your favourite Quiz, Crossword or Puzzle should be listed here don’t hesitate to contact us.

Remember: You do not have to use the title builder - simply enter the title and question as you normally would and click submit!

Can't find an earlier post.

Quite a challenge from Wan with some tricky wordplays and misprints/extra letters. Highlighting not too difficult if you have an idea where to look.

emcee, I fully agree with you about the clues. Some of these were gems.

Specifically, I'd say that misprints in wordplay - done well - can really make the solver's task much harder and still be good fun. And there were some very neat definitions, too.

I don't think you need to apologise, Wan, for the difficulty of the grid-staring. Once one had grasped the essentials of what had to be highlighted (with the symmetry to help) there were only two plausible possibilities that had 43 squares, and then it wasn't too hard to check, even though the members might not have been too familiar. Vicious but fair, like Dinsdale Piranha.

Obscure members of the first group - but we were searching for a different symmetry completely, despite knowing what we were looking for.
