I agree with you cupid04. Not that definition in any dictionary I've checked.
As a verb it means to 'Hamstring'

verb
1.
cripple (a person or animal) by cutting their hamstrings.
synonyms: cripple, lame, hock, disable, handicap, injure
"the enemy was trying to hamstring his horse"
So hinder is also a synonym.

Patonae -Shown as to hamstring in several dictionaries, and as Mamyalyyne quite rightlly says to hamstring is to hinder.
