12d Virgin filling bank form (2,4,2,6,4)

Answer is "as pure as the driven snow" (i.e. virgin)

But how does the wordplay work?
... "the driven snow" is pushed up to form a bank
... "as pure as" must then mean "filling"?

Just doing it myself. I put the same as you. Like a lot of Dean Meyer's we probably won't be much wiser after its 'explained'.

12d) i don't reckon that the word play is explicit but simply intended to give the general idea
