We have seen some birds in the last few days which we have never seen before. They are about the same size as a blackbird and although their backs, heads and wings are black, their undersides are much paler, looking light grey or even white. They are not thrushes. I cannot find them in any of my bird books. We live in Bristol and have only seen these birds (there are at least four of them) over the last few days. Does anyone have any idea what they are and where they come from? I have not been able to photograph them yet otherwise I would have put up a picture.

Hooded crow?
Have they got grey heads? We have got loads of Fieldfares in and around our garden.

Are they fieldfares or redwings? Have a look on The RSPB website. I suspect they may be fieldfares.
