The Times Crossword Club shows me that I've got one wrong. Could it be 52 across, Cardinal with two crosses (6). I had T-E-T- and guessed at TWENTY as it is a cardinal number. Am i wrong?

TWENTY is correct - in Roman numerals it is of course XX i.e. two crosses
Twenty
twenty is a cardinal number XX in roman numerals, its right

Thanks bibblebub, that makes sense, so it's back to the drawing board in my quest for the rogue answer. How about 15dn. INDIANAN, or 49ac ARGO ?
you are correct with both those answers
The answer must be right but the clue seems a bit odd to me as thereis an infinte number of cardinal numbers (0,1,2,3...) so 20 is nothing special- except that it meets the requirement of being represented by two crosses
isn't that all you need for a cryptic clue?

I'm totally confused as to what I got wrong then, just have to wait for the answers to come up. Thanks to all of you for your help though.
Dailly36 - I could upload a pic of the filled-in grid if you want.

Thanks for the kind offer Bibblebub, but I've just re-checked my submission and found that I mistyped Tensional as Tensiinal. That'll teach me to type a bit slower next time. Sorry to have wasted everyone's time
