Hi
I've got the grid filled in, I've got the 'messages' as to what to do with the peripheral clues, I've solved most of the thematic clues but.................
I've no idea how to 'mutilate' the peripheral clues
Can help VERY gratefully received!

I'm no further than you, Ripper, but I'm guessing the editor's helpful note is a further clue - unfortunately one I've not managed to solve yet!

Here's a hint: in the second thematic clue, only the first three letters remain, because the "opposition members" have gone.

Thanks, Alilloyd - I'm sure that will be very helpful when I've solved that clue! I do have several of the others, but that one has held out so far!

take out both of the opposite terms eg - GO/b/STOP/per is entered bper
