It means:

"Anything you can do, I can do better"

not quite

I am a man, I think nothing/strange to man by me

this is not classical Latin
puto normally takes an accusative and infinitive

even if you supply a verb, esse, to be

humani nihil a me alienum puto esse

I think nothing of man to be strange/ foreign from me

or something

anything you can do I can do better

quicquid facias, facio melius

the metre even fits.

Dungeon Jayne: thanks for your speedy response, but is your translation correct - this is not how I translated it with my rudimentary knowledge of Latin.

Peter - many thanks for your detailed response, which I have every confidence in. You really are a pedant - and I mean that in the nicest way possible! Thanks to you both.
