....shall we have a wedding story thread?......

For the couple I mentioned on Baz's thread I had made for them a long nine sectioned photo frame.....their name is nine letters long and in each section of the frame is a letter of their name.
Each letter is a photograph....M could be part of a lovely viaduct.....O a circular church window....and so on......they really are lovely....

I received a thank you but it was some months later I received an email.......

Gness...we are so sorry......we had folk to visit and they asked us about our wedding presents ....we took your frame out of the cupboard, showed it to them and said.....this is so unusual......Gness always comes up with something quirky but she got us this ordinary, black frame........and now we have to find pictures to fill it....most odd....

Our friends suggested we turn it up the other way so we did...........and saw our name in beautiful photographs! We'd been looking at it upside down since we unwrapped it!

Numpties!!!!.... :-)

My cousins wedding, the one held in the garden, the night before we'd gone out, walking back to our B&B trying to flag a taxi I tripped up the kirb. All fine, not painful, but woke up the next morning with a massive swollen foot and couldn't get my shoes on....luckily the dress code was casual.

Barefoot....or like me, Ummmm....a Tesco bag?.....x

My first mother-in-law had always wanted a daughter....but only had the one son...
When I came along with no mum really she took over our wedding...we had the best of everything...
It took place in a Catholic Church with a long aisle....she didn't want my dress to get dirty so she ordered a red carpet to cover the aisle on the day...
The ceremony dragged on with the Latin mass and all so by the time we left the next wedding was waiting....
There was no way Ma in law was going to let the next bride use the red carpet she'd paid for so she barred them from entering the church and in pencil skirt and killer heels she got down on her hands and knees and rolled up the red carpet.... all the way to the altar.......:-)
I went to my brother's wedding 44 years ago. It was in an RC church. I thought something was odd as soon as I entered. I was expecting to hear the organ playing but nothing but silence. Eventually the time for the wedding passed and still nothing. The priest came over and said he couldn't proceed because the registrar hadn't turned up, essential for all marriages outside the C of E. Turned out that the priest had forgotten to book the registrar, as well as the organist. Fulsome apologies and return of fees. They got married three days later at no cost.
Barefoot. Luckily we got a taxi from the B&B straight to the house so no one really noticed. The swelling was due to the fact that we couldn't get a taxi and ended up walking 5 miles home. We weren't drunk but I'd obviously had enough to dull any pain. My foot is still swollen over 10 years later!

Your ex MIL sounds quite funny.
JD...what about the guests?
There weren't many guests. The reception was held in his MIL's kitchen!

Funny isn't the word I'd use, Ummmm.....she drove me nuts....but she was kind....in her own way...
My foot's still swollen after all these years....but it matches the other...both size three now which is bliss......x

My priest had remembered to book the registrar, JD....unfortunately as it turned out.... :-(
