Hello all you lovely AB-ers I hope you are all well on this chilly november evening. My fiance is welsh and speaks the language fluently.I want to get a tattoo as a symbol of my love but I want something more unique than his name.I want to get soul mate(not sure if its two words or one) written in welsh.I could ask him but it might be a bit obvious as to why I want to know.I have looked online but I wanna make 100% sure before I get it inked

My question is can any welsh speaking AB-ers tell me what soul mate is in welsh?
I know a few people may think the tattoo idea is tacky or I may regret it but I will carry on regardless so derogatory or sarcastic comments will be pointless

I hope someone can help me

TIA :D

I would double-check the answers you get from the jokers on here before putting needle to skin!

Thanks TWR thats what I thought.Hopkirk you were who I referenced in my question.I have had 12 successful tattoos so I know what I am doing!
A translation website I've just looked says ffrind enaid, as tambourine suggested.

ffrind enaid

Translates as "friend life"

Which just goes to show the difference between translation and trans-literation.

Translate a block of English text into French, then French to German then German to English, using a website and have a good old chuckle at the mess.

Sorry I can't answer the opening question but hope the info is useful.

Thanks all.I'll keep looks hypnogosis(Sorry if its spelt wrong)
Simple answer is CARIAD - nothing else.
But that said, don't agree with tattoos - Sorry!
I get called cariad, sometimes. It's lovely. How do you say it, clivebecca?
Exactly as it's spelt Tilly. x
So car i ad? Is it a soft of hard 'c'? Sariad?
soft or hard 'c'? I mean.
Carrie 'ard (is how I would say it) but I thought cariad was linked to Caru (to love?)
C as in car, canary etc. Welsh is phonetic, very like German in fact, although we do have some strange letters in the alphabet such as rh and ch. I can't tell you how ch is pronounced only to make a phlegmy sound in your throat (sorry, doesn't sound very nice) or as though you are trying to get rid of a hair. Rh is like saying R but with a bit of breeze behind it, almost like a little motor. I'm sure you know what LL sounds like;-)
.... oops sorry cariad is pronounced ca ri ad. car makes the emphasis too long. The 3 syllables are all short and clipped.
I would advise the following way to an English speaker: CARRY AD [simples!]
