I'm never sure which is which. In my head Pros = Problems and Cons = Conveniences. I think I have this wrong as Pro is 'for' and often see people use it this way round. Which is right?

pros is for, cons is against
Question Author
thanks alex; so pro as in 'for' from latin (I think) and cons is short for 'concerns' ?
it's shortened from "pro et contra", Latin for 'for and against'
Con is short for contra, Latin for against, as opposed to pro, for.
