Hi guys,

Recently I applied for a job (in which you had to create an account on the company website, then complete the application).

I checked my account yesterday and it said that my application was 'Shortlisted'. I checked again today to see that I was now 'Reserve'. Bearing in mind that the closing date was today and it has now been moved to the 27th, can anyone give me any advice as to what 'Reserve' means?

Sorry to sound stupid but I really do want the job and I don't really want to call them to ask in case in case I jeopardise my application.

Thank you in advance.

It probably means that the Company have whittled applicants down to Two, and it's probably between you and the other person who they eventually choose.

For the interview?
is this a closing date for interviews?
Question Author
No it's the closing date for applications. But it has been moved to Monday.
You will probably have a last Interview shortly and they will then decide who they employ !
Good Luck and give it your best shot.

I haven't had a first one yet!!

But thanks for the support.
its hard to say as all companies would have different ways of doing things. my own opinion is that they have you as a reserve rather than to interview at the moment.

Thanks redcrx. That's my line of thinking. Was so happy I was shortlisted, then today I got a bit down seeing that I was a reserve. But i'll try and stay positive!
thats it, stay positive :)

i wish you luck, i know its not that easy finding jobs at the moment.
