I love the Welsh accent, and Geordie. I also like a nice 'clipped' English accent. Like a gentleman ;)

Scots and Irish are also nice....erm so any really (kidding)

What accents do you like or indeed hate?

Does anyone "assign" an accent to people online?

I have spoken to some people and know what they sound like but for others I try and imagine how they talk!
Sometimes. I try and guess where people are from and whether there is anyone I know
Can I choose an out of area one hays and say I really like the American accent .
I hate posts that are an excuse for brummie bashing, the impersonaters have a stronger midland accent than the brummies themselves.

sure I can laugh at myself but its still hurtful, no disrespect haysi, I know you were not creating a post to have a go at midland accents but these "regional accent best and worst posts" always end up the same way

bigmamma I do like the American accent too. I have spoken to a few American online friends and they are so polite!

I spoke to a Brummie recently and loved her accent. It was exactly how I imagined it to be. Shes adorable and her accent really suited her.
I love the West Country accent
cuddleme what i mean't is i don't like any accent other than
black country.by the way i live in the walsall area so any other accent sounds strange to me.
I'm not fond of Midland accents but I love Julie's and she's a Midlander to me and I have a friend who lives in Walsall and I love his accent, but maybe that's more because he's my friend :)
Scouse accents do my head in which is hard as I work with several scousers - some are worse than others though.
I wouldn't expect everyone to like my accent either but you can't help where you come from can you? :)
Awwww Cazz don't be upset. My children sound like Jasper Carrot and I think it's cute.x
lol @ katie
No disrespect cazz, I am from Lancashire and we get it also :)

You cant help where you come from thats true.

I must admit that I do tailor my accent when at work or when I travel about so that people can understand me. However with friends I talk 90 to the dozen and it would seem like a foreign language to non Scots!
Its okay, I am emotional today because Im on co-codamol for a trapped nerve
call the fire brigade cazz
I try and tone down my accent if I am in a different town or abroad cos I feel different and louder then everybody else
