Right some of you will obviousley not agree with this but we all have our own opinoin on this.
Am watching live earth at the mo and was going out but kasabian are just coming on so will stay a while and probbably watch all day and night.

Right my point is this concert is supposed to be for the good of planet earth and reduce so called carbon footprints well just how much electricity is wembly using at the moment and how much are the people drinking there and farting and producing methane gasses, how many people at home are watching this and drinking and farting, when their tv would normally be switched of, how many surround sound systems are there switched on at this moment when they would not normally be, millions and millions.

I dont belive this mrs nonutts has just got out of her pit and come down here and said to me exactly what I am saying now almost word for word, oh my god she is the wicked witch from the east.

Just another point they were saying about planes and not flying and not turning up for a flight in protest or something (I think but please correct me if I am wrong) well all I can say that if a plane is sheduled too fly it will fly no matter how many people are on board the amount of times we have been on an easy jet flight and have been almost the only 2 people on there well almost.
I could go on and on about how hypercrittacale (sorry) all this is. So here you go I have started the ball rolling now so come on doc spock think you must agree with this one.

Stolen from someone else.....

A hoped-for audience of two billion.
 6,000 parties in 119 countries.
Saturation coverage from TV, radio, and the internet.
 150 acts.
60 short films, 30 public service announcements, and a book.
Consider the vast carbon footprint of Live Earth, during which the worlds most indulgent people - rock stars - will demand that their followers pledge to take personal action to help solve the climate crises by reducing my own C02 pollution as much as I can.
Has Live Earth performer Keith Urban sold his Bentleys yet? (Actually, merely selling those 12-cylinder babies wont reduce C02 emissions; he must destroy them.) Ive been trying to come up with a violently destructive Gaia-raping stunt for us to participate in on Live Earth day, but it is literally impossible for even several thousand non-millionaires to match Live Earths own level of eco-vandalism while remaining within their means and the law.
Weve been out-carboned by Big Environmentalism. Theres simply no way we can come close to matching the colossal carbon output of Gore and his musical mates."

But you must give up your SUV's and buy different light bulbs.

I think the point is that you sacrifice a little to gain a lot. Its a very negative attitude. If 2 billion take something away from this then thats brilliant. These events hit home. They put on a truly amazing show to highlight ignorant attitudes. Imagine if a just half the people who watched this, cycled, car shared or walked to work instead.

Global warming, load of ********, 200,000 years ago earth was 5 degrees warmer, It is all bl00dy twaddle designed to get money off people.

Cheers doc mate I knew you would not let me down on this..
Well carry on using up all our natural resources, you've had your fun spock. Why bother leaving a nice planet for your children's children to enjoy? Its not like you will be around to be upset about it.
Question Author
maybe goodsoul but did you not read in the paper yesterday that the tfl (transport for london) office in london sent an e mail to all there workers saying that they are banning them from cycling to work as it is to dangerous.
And what about the fact hunt 2 jags prescott could go on and on and on but I will only turn into victor meldrew or god forbid it even worse as like old fashioned (sorry doc just trying to be a bit funny here) and we dont want that do we.
There is absolutely no proof of anything, we are such an insignicant blight in the earths history. Din.osaurs lasted 65million years, we have only done 4 million. We dont know anything, this global warming is absolute .cr@p They dont talk about the hole in the ozone layer .any more as it seeme to be mending itself.
doc do you have much info on how much of the Earths surface was covered in water etc for that period. Have you mentioned anything about the mini iceages? it may have been warmer for the years 170,000 -200,000 years but that has been through cycles of 50,000ish years of warmer and colder periods. Natures way of restoring the balance.

Because global current is linked in complex ways to the atmosphere, the emission of greenhouse gases through fossil fuel combustion could trigger a major interference in the Earth's climate as we know it today. So we arent talking about what history has seen in the past because whoever was inhabiting the planet then wasnt helping create a bigger problem at the time.
Our planet will die, end of, what makes some of us so stupid as to think we can alter anything.
It may have been that 200,00 years ago the oceans were 3 feet higher. There is nothing we can do to alter anything, it is all a government ploy to extract money.
the reason they dont talk so much about the Ozone layer so much is because the massive Global effort to stop the ozone layer being thinned by free radical catalysts, managed to stabilise the rate at which it was being thinned not because they decided there wasn't a hole anymore.

The ozone layer acts like a car windscreen, it will let those hot rays from the sun in but it wont let them back out. Nature can deal with these but add on top what we do to the planet, it causes extra problems. Global warming is being held responsible for the increase in El Nino we are seeing.

Its a lot easier to do nothing though isnt it?

Ah what the hell all muse is good muse annit
I don't know where this 'millions of years' nonsense came from, the earth has only been in existence since 4004 BC, as clearly shown on you tube, pbuit.

As to nowadays, it's all the Chinese fault, but you can hardly blame them, where else we would get absolutely everything we buy nowadays if it weren't for them.

The creation of the Earth
oh the planet won't die, the planet will be absolutely fine, business as usual... it is humans and most other living things that will die, because we have made the place uninhabitable.
the planet will probably be glad to be rid of the itching

we can all make small changes, they dont intefere with our life too much, so why not. its a waste otherwise. chucking things away, when they can be re-cylced, it just common sense to re-use what we can etc. I aggree about john prescott though, so hypocritical!!
didnt realise a post had been put here about live earth but anyway black eyed peas were at live earth and thewn fergie made an appearance at the justin timberlake concert saying she had just got of the plane from the live earth concert!!!!!!!!
