I am thinking of buying a Discovery sport hse with 20inch wheels, I don't really want 20inch I would like 18inch, My question is would there be a problem replacing the 20inch with 18inch wheels.

I don't think so - you just get less wheel & more tyre so the overall radius is the same. It should give a smoother ride but probably roll more on bends/corners. Different wheel sizes are available as options on the same model of some cars.

Yes, your speedo reading would be wrong.

If you change to a smaller wheel you need to make sure that the overall tyre circumference is as standard or you will get problems. Are the 20'' standard OEM? most sports come with a 18/19'' setup.
Don't forget that you will have to tell your insurance company and this can cause problems at renewal when you're looking for quotes from other companies; they don't like modifications.

20inch wheels come as standard on the HSE Discovery Sport, ifb the speedo is wrong by how much?

As Ryzen says, it depends on the tyres. If the overall diameter is the same, no difference but if the diameter is different the speedo will be wrong.

If you end up with a slightly smaller wheel/tyre diameter you speedo will over-read so no problem with breaking the speed limit! The effect should be minimal.
But there are limits of accuracy on the speedo, so it could make the car illegal.
no problem just make sure you get the correct tyres so the rolling circumference is the same. if you tell me the tyre spec as is now I will tell you what you need for the 18 inch wheels.
