Maestro.
Interesting read.
Jackie Stewart 2 titles Sir before his name
Lewis Hamilton 7 titles......................
Actually, I think it is a Mercedes, Doug.
Sorry... ... ...but would he have got the record if Michael Schumacher had still been racing ??
yes, a true British champion.
Given the poor showing by Schumacher on his return to F1, yes, he'd still have equalled the record.
A master class , displayed in the race

While all the other drivers were spinning off the tarmac Lewis was the only one to keep it on the black stuff .

Whether you like him or not , you can't deny that he is the best driver of the modern era and ( arguably ) any era .

Full time , he was further recognised .

Nothing against Schumacher - he was a great driver as well .
However , all his team mates were number 2's and were forced to play second fiddle alongside him and were forced to let him win when in that position .

True talent will rise to the top

Well done Lewis

Jackie Stewart wasn't knighted until 2001, which had as much to his work in drover safety than his record as a racer.

I personally don't like it when sportspeople are knighted/recieve damehoods while they are still competing. It seems premature to me.
It seems premature

I'm sorry, Captain Drake, but you'll have to sail around the Isle of Wight a few more times until you're properly qualified for it.
Michael Schumacher was a brilliant driver and many believed the records he set would never be broken. Lewis Hamilton has equalled Schumacher's record of 7 World titles - with races to spare! The German won his 7 titles in 308 starts, Hamilton has taken just 264 to win his 7. His win ratio is 35% to Schumacher's 30% and he is 29 pole positions ahead - 97 - 68. What's more, he has 163 podium finishes to 155. Lewis Hamilton will go on to set new records and prove he is the greatest driver of the modern era. And we should be immensely proud of all he has, and will, achieve.
I dont think u can fairly compare sportsmen/women in diff eras.

Diff equipment/rules etc.

True, ag. Doesn't stop us from doing it, though :-) Pele/Maradona, Gordon Richards/Lester Piggot, etc, etc.
Folk luv to compare yep

Take Snooker/Tennis/Golf for ex.It just dusnt work does it...

Oh and gee gees Ken!
Jackie Stewart 3 titles?
Pele and Maradona In the same sentance... I have a bar of soap if you need it Ken.
Im sure me dad used to watch a prog 'whose the greatest'? Two greats from diff times and a real jury who voted after someone spoke for both parties??
