Anyone else had problems getting hold of the above?
I usually buy it in Costco but they’ve not had it for months, they do have the tablets though.
I’ve also tried Boots and had no luck there either, was reduced to buying their own brand disgusting aniseed flavour stuff. It did the trick but tastes revolting.

Do you store it in the fridge ?
If you have a Superdrug nearby, they sell it. I know because I got some for an elderly neighbour last week.
Tesco usually have it, and if not, their own brand is very good
It's shown as in stock (in all three sizes) on the Asda website.

If you regularly need to take any form of Gaviscon though, you might be better off with proton pump inhibitor tablets. Consult a pharmacist.

I take a prescriped ppi every morning but at my gp’s recommendation also take a couple of spoons full of Gaviscon just before bed as I have a hiatus hernia, and it really does the trick.
Will try the places recommended, Sainsburys also haven’t had it for ages, I know as I add it to our click and collect every week, and every week it’s not there.
Was wondering if there was some sort of problem with it.
Thanks all.

Sorry, Anne, no I don’t store it in the fridge. Am I missing something??
Save yourself money by buying 'Peptac Peppermint Liquid - 500ml' from your local Pharmacists.
Gaviscon is just a brand name which you are paying over the odds for.
Peptac works faster and better for me personally.
Yes vagus, liquid antacids taste nicer from the fridge .

Thanks for the tip, I’ll give it a go, the aniseed flavour is especially horrible just before bed.
Fanriffic, will investigate that further, thanks.
If you go into any of the bigger named pharmacies (Lloyds, Newmark, etc) and ask for their equivalent of Gaviscon, it will be just the same! Bought some yesterday at a Newmark pharmacy which was £3.49 for a large bottle. Gaviscon £8.99!
Superdrug has it in stock and it is free delivery if you spend £15. I have used their delivery service and found it be excellent.
Generic brands certainly work out much cheaper. I always buy Loperamide rather than Immodium and Sleep Aid rather than Nytol. A big saving and exactly the same ingredients.
Can you not get it on prescription? I get Gaviscon advance on prescription 300ml. Choice of aniseed or peppermint.
My GP won't prescribe antacids you can buy over the counter.
Strange, isn't it? I much prefer aniseed flavour to peppermint!
And, when I needed it over a long period some time ago, my GP put Gaviscon Advance on prescription. Apparently, the Advance formulation gives better results for a longer time.
So Gaviscon advanced has no generic equivalent.

I don’t want it on prescription as I could/can buy it over the counter and I feel in a very small way I’m saving the nhs a bit of money.
So no one has heard that it’s been withdrawn or anything? I wonder why Costco and sainsburys, and Boots, haven’t had it?
Anyhow, thanks for all the answers, very helpful.
I agree with Fanrrific I get Peptac, it tastes ok works quickly and does not cost much, I believe they have a choice of two flavours but I stick with peppermin.
