Are these the most draconian yet?

// For the first time since the coronavirus pandemic began, it will be illegal for people in parts of the UK to meet people they do not live with in pubs, bars or restaurants. //

Talk to someone in the pub and it’s a £6,400 fine.

They say they don’t want to hurt the economy, and then they do this. This is a dangerous Government because they have gone power mad. They have given themselves extraordinary powers without parliamentary scrutiny, and now they are behaving like a banana republic dictatorship.

Rant over.

It's disgusting. Time for mass disobedience.
They're just storing up trouble for themselves, giving the public something to hang their revolution on.

Oh, and they're loving being able to bully and push folk around, it must be just like being back at school for some.
.... and this is going to work how exactly??

"Joe Bloggs" isn't allowed to meet up with people that he doesn't know in a pub ..... so off he trots to the pub, on his own ..... oh ..... the rest of his friends are already there.
If they all follow the socially distancing guidelines, how is anyone meant to enforce this??
Is it a case of, if you get to a pub and there's someone already there that you know; then you can't go inside??
Absolutely bonkers !!!!
^^^^
Sorry, should read:

"Joe Bloggs" isn't allowed to meet up with people that he doesn't LIVE WITH in a pub!
Remember they have done this because they were asked to by LOCAL government. Would you prefer that all hospitality venues were shut?
giz you KNOW that is not true. You have to socially distance from people you don't live with in hospitality venues.
I'd prefer that all hospitality venues were open normally.

Whether the local or national authorities are the source of the problem isn't really relevant as they are often in cahoots.
I'd prefer that my pension was doubled and I got free champagne....
Johnson needs to go, along with the rest of his Stasi.
Johnson doesn't need Locking Down. He wants Locking up, and throw away the Key.
The rules cerainly seem to have stumped the PM: if he can't get it right, or members of his cabinet, what chance anyone else

The problem is there are are 6 or 7 different sets of rules depending on where you live.

1. England
2. Wales
3. Scotland
4. N. Ireland
5. Bolton (pub and restaurants all shut)
6. North West, West Yorkshire, Greater Manchester, Merseyside, Leicester - Lockdown 2
7. The North East - you can’t meet anyone not living in your home.

It is no wonder the Prime Minister gets it wrong. The difference is, he just looks like a fool (he must be getting used to that) but if we et the rules wrong we can get a £6400 fine.
and he risks losing his career.....

Johnson has a 80 strong majority.
He is very unlikely to lose his carer.
Question Author
It could do with losing his carer.
But I meant to write career.
// The problem is there are are 6 or 7 different sets of rules depending on where you live.//

o god man up
grow a pair

since you can only live in one place at a time - there will only be one set of rules - and dare I make an Einstein suggestion? - you follow them ! - and live ....
I don't know, PP, I drove across the borough border yesterday and wondered if I should have studied the rules they have over there. It's like being in the USA and you can't remember whether this is one of the states where you can turn on a red light
// Johnson has a 80 strong majority.

imagine it on a slack morning

Johnson for it is he - floobing his hair-- -home darling
Carol the carer: hullos sweet one - bad day at the office
J - dicas bis! (*)
C dont lose it darling - thingey has to have a father! ..... etc etc

(*) you can say that again! - - dicas is subjunctive and we latin scholars call that a potential subjunctive - - quis neget carmen petro?
// It's like being in the USA and you can't remember whether this is one of the states where you can turn on a red light//

orif it Monday then it cd be France and those damned 2 Cvs just turn into you from side streets ( roots da priorite)
oh, France, god knows what the laws are for Citroens, I just used to give way to them all rather than attract the attention of the quai des Orfèvres.
