New Boots

An elderly farmer was tired of his old leaky boots, so he decided to go into town and buy a new pair.
When he got home he tried to get his aged wife to notice the new boots without him actually saying anything but she didn't notice them at all, so he went into the bedroom, took off all his clothes and came back down stairs wearing just the new boots.
"Notice anything?" he said
"Nope, just that thing dangling down between your legs" she said.
"Yes but look at where its pointing, at my new boots" he said.
"Huh" she replied "then you should have bought a new hat"
