In Ratters OP earlier, he/she said "I think they are mostly true claims....people...cannot get away with touching inappropriately.....they will now be believed and supported". When I was 19, I worked as a mechanic in a weaving shed. Aye folks, ah wrkd int mill! Before starting my shift, I would remove most of my casual wear and change into a tee shirt and full boiler suit, but I didn't wear any trousers under the boiler suit. This was a mistake in certain parts of the weaving shed, that I hoped my mate would cover, but it wasn't always possible. On most days there would be attempted gropes into my boiler suit by middle-aged, married women. I did have underwear on, BTW. This was a regular thing and I would always try and avoid these parts of the shed. On one occasion, a woman went to her handbag and pulled out a large quantity of b&w pornographic photos to show me. This was the first time I had ever seen that type of picture and it was quite a shock, I can tell you, innocent young thing that I was! All of that was something that really happened to me. Me too, I suppose, in a way. Is it worth reporting to the police? Nah. Would anyone believe me if I did? I doubt it. I think they would just laugh about it. The point is, these things didn't just happen to women, as one famous actor is now being accused. Like Ratter said, it was a long time agooooooooooooooooooooooooo! But true.

Both men and women misbehave in this way - reporting it now is purely up to you.

I prefer to leave things that happened in the past and move on, but for many things are far too traumatic to make that simple.
These tales were common in female workplaces, a one time colleague worked at a tentmakers straight from school and this outfit, which used to make sails for the Tea Clippers, had the biggest table in the world, which groups of the girls used to drag him underneath and do unspeakable things to him. I don't recall any such things being a regular occurrence in predominantly male workplaces.
My colleague was unaffected by his ordeals.
Maybe not really relevant to your op but why did you not wear trousers under the boiler suit ?
Would anyone believe me if I did?

well, I do. Are you suggesting I shouldn't?
The "ladies" who fondled you were not, I imagine, among the rich and famous, 10CS. Thereby hangs the difference.

I have a profound unease about "historical" allegations that crawl from the woodwork decades after they are alleged to have happened. I have followed one or two of the higher profile cases in some detail and have been very disturbed by some of the allegations that were subsequently seen to be unfounded. As for the police spending fortunes investigating allegations made against people who are dead - don't start me off.

As you can see, no one laughed at you here or disbelieved you - it went on and still does.
