So simple, yet so profound! Read the words of wisdom from that famous philosopher, Willie Nelson, iconic country and western singer, on his 80th birthday below his esteemed portrait. Only a man with such wisdom and maturity could be so concise and succinct in phrasing his feelings at this turning point in his life.

Willie Nelson
"I've outlived my dick."
A Poem - by Willie Nelson

My nookie days are over,
My pilot light is out.
What used to be my pride and joy,
Is now my water spout.

Time was when, on its own accord,
From my trousers it would spring.
But now I've got a full time job,
To find the friggin thing.

It used to be embarrassing,
The way it would behave.
For every single morning,
It would stand and watch me shave.

Now as old age approaches,
It sure gives me the blues.
To see it hang its little head,
And watch me tie my shoes!!

Well Carans's holiday is certainly making her chirpy........... ;-)....x
Whose now being soft.??!!

Hans.
He should put that to music.
//He should put that to music.//
but could it stand up to that treatment ?
No.......I am not going to write the answer that's in my head.....
Brilliant
It's just as bad to think it as it is to say it.
I'm keeping quiet, nevertheless. :-)
@Tilly2.....At 9.42 you said, "He should put that to music". Well he did.:-

Fingers crossed that the link works.

Hans.
It's not Willie Nelson.
Thanks Donny for correcting my error. Shows what a soft dic I am.

Hans.
Awww ...
My Gran used to recite virtually the same ditty back in the 60s to us - made us giggle.

♫The ages of man

From 20 to 30 if a man lives right
It’s once in the morning
and twice in the night
From 30 to 40
If he’s still lives right
He misses the morning
and sometimes the night
From 40 to 50
It’s just now and then
From 50 to 60
its’s Gods know when
from 60 to 70
if he’s still inclined
It begins to get erratic
but it’s still in his mind
His sporting days are over
His light is nearly out
What used to be his sex appeal
Is now his water spout
It used to be embarrassing
To make the thing behave
For nearly every morning
It stood and watched him shave
But now that it’s getting older
It sure gives him the blues
To have it dangling down his leg
and watch him clean his shoes.♫
Cheers Mamy......I knew I had heard before what is now being attributed to Willie Nelson.

Hans.
Would be funny if it wasn't so true. OH is in his 70s.
:(

Very good though. :) who'd be a man?
What a super drooper, I'm not his biggest fan -eh! Who's to judge.
suggest that it is set to Handel's Water Music.
'It would stand up and watch me shave.'
I can't get that vision out of my head now, lol!
@cupid04.....It would be interesting to know the exact vision you have in mind.

Willie Nelson had a beard. Consequently ,what exactly do you think he was shaving.

Hans.
