Thoughtless off-the-cuff remark, or indicative of the idea that Hillborough was indeed caused by holliganism?

Also...dows anyone know what actually caused the 'unrest' last night???

No he wasn't at all justified. Stupid remark. I never could abide the man.
No.

I think it was a remark made without proper thought - something we are all prone to, but famous people get pilloried for.

He has apologised - let's move on, nothing to see here.
I've always thought him an idiot.
I think his wife is gorgeous!!
He's not the only one to have uttered the name Hillsborough when discussing this incident, unfortunate remark.

Glad he's apologised.
The only comparison that I can see is that thousands of West Ham fans turned up at the ground without tickets last night, Liverpool fans did the same at Hillsborough, as happens a lot at important games, something which I think will never be stopped!
Why does everybody have to apologise for everything these days ??
Andy Hughes "I think his wife is gorgeous!!" Yes she is, I was interviewed by her many moons ago. A lovely lady indeed.
viv
To appease those who are easily offended.
He's a big ManUre fan, so no surprise.
So many folk offended these days retro.
He's obviously shooting from his new hip(s)??

Idiotic to make a comparison to Hillsborough. Maybe he should join a new TV show with David Cameron called 'Loose Men'...

I don't know who he is, but I now want to see his wife. Any pics?
The man is just proving how ignorant he is. He makes the connection between what happened at Hillsborough and Tuesday evening - then issues an unreserved apology "to anyone who thinks i was making that connection." Classic.
I just wish sometimes people from Liverpool would stop portraying themselves as being whiter than white and are never to blame for anything, everything seems to always be someone else's fault.
that's one thing naomi and I agree on....the man's always had a foot in his mouth, nothing new here.....
If West Ham are fined by the FA the club can have no ground for complaint o:)
^^
Haha, ag, but, Joe King aside, i don't see how West Ham can be held responsible for something that happened OUTSIDE the ground, as i said on t'other thread.
Hmmm Ken, bit like a school absolving themselves for bullying, etc from just outside their gates...
