Two days ago out of the blue I developed these severe stabbing pains in my arms. It literally felt like someone had a handful of drawing pins and was repeatedly poking them in my upper arms. this went on for hours and was horrendous. It finally wore off, thank god. At bedtime lastnight it came back, the pain was so bad that I couldn't sleep and was pacing the house up and down, rubbing and grabbing my upper arms with my hands to try and stop the pain. Needless to say my arms are now bruised. The pain is still there and I am beside myself. Obviously I will call the doctor in the morning but there is absolutely nothing physical to see, apart from the now bruising. It is such a high acute pain and is restricted to both upper arms, nowhere else. On another note, probably totally unrelated, also in the last 2 days my face has been itching beyond belief, mainly my nose and cheeks and I have been rubbing and scratching like a madwoman but still the itching is there. Help!!

When checking with the doctor please ask if it could be a neurological problem.
