A friend of mine said that unless there is an officer number on the uniform then this doesn't stand a cats hell in standing up to a charge of impersonating a police officer, what a joke and waste of tax payers money!

There is a thread on this one already somewhere. I'd have thought the attempt to fool folk one was a police officer would clearly need to be serious. Well on second thoughts, past revelations re the law, maybe not after all.
The offence is contained in section 90 of the police act 1996

I don't think this is going to stick as the pig mask would strongly suggest he wasn't trying to decieve anyone into thinking he was a police officer.
I can understand how the arresting officer was confused. After all, he was wearing a pig mask...easy mistake to make. Another clue would have been the length of the chaps nose, Pinocchio-style.
If you notice, the video has been altered so as to hide the words on the helmet and something on the jacket so they must think something is wrong about the outfit.
.

Corby - in view of the level of the 'humour' I had concluded the blanked out works were either 'Pig' or 'PC PLOD'
There is also a blanked out name card which I thought contained a similar ironic identity
