So the estate agent takes you into a room in which there is a sink, work surfaces, a fridge, dishwasher, etc, scales and blenders on the work tops, racks of herbs, cooking utensils on the wall, a block of knives, a chopping board, glass measuring jugs, etc, etc, etc, and says ...

"And this is the kitchen"

It is just SO hard to rein in the sarcasm.

I wasn't too naughty, but I couldn't resist asking him if he was sure.

Is it just me who thinks that, sometimes ... fewer words say more?

You buying or selling jj?
I can only assume he was familiar with your 'extensive' culinary abilities and didn't want to leave anything to chance ;-)
what do you expect him to say?

He'd be hard pressed in our kitchen - from your list, we've got

sink
work surfaces

on display - none of that other stuff.
From 1.04 to 1.18 in this clip. One of my favourite ever pieces of sarcasm:

Just looking at another buy-to-let, Psy

Eccles, yes yes, ha ha, I suppose I asked for that.

Your kitchen sounds very tidy, boxy.
JJ - perhaps you should change your name to BloggerJayne and win more friends and influence people.
Yes, jj, and keep in mind to never use big words when miniscule synonyms are perfectly sufficient in rendering your oral or written intent.
It's desperately untidy actually, JJ - but we don't have a dishwasher, the fridge is in the dining room, and all the stuff you mention is in cupboards.
Another? How many do you own?

LOL stewey.

Well, keeping things in cupboards is tidy, boxy.

You don't have a floordrobe, then, lol

I don't think anyone would want to be influenced by me, Shoota.
"Less is more" is applicable most times.
I might.....

I've just got a couple in the town, Psy. Nothing very grand.
Sorry JJ,.....harsh but fair though!

Society, it so is, isn't it.
When the agent said - "And this is the kitchen"
my reply would have been - "you think?" :)

It's just not my forte, Eccles. You know the bit in Bridget Jones, where she makes soup, and it goes blue? That's just me all over. The only thing I find harder than cooking, is baking.

I've looked at some places where they tell you a bedroom would take a double bed, and I'm thinking ...

Ya, if you stand it on its end!
I suppose if they said nothing, or just waved their arms round shouting 'Guess, where we are now!' they may not be employed very long.

Hope you find the right property JJ.
