I would be very interested to know of any experiences , that mothers had with their pregnancies, when the baby was very active in the womb. and then what the baby was like once born. Whether the baby was just as active and hard to settle or became the perfect little angel.
I'm asking for my niece , who is having her first child (27 weeks so far). Since week 15 she has felt the baby move and by week 20 his activity has almost been non stop. Basically she is exhausted, due the discomfort and lack of sleep. It took 3 different appointment s for scans to get all the necessary measurements, due to his activity. Even the scanner , wished her luck with this one!

I know certain foods cause children hyperactivity, so its probably right to say that the food she eats may effect a babies activity( she limits her caffeine to three cups a day). Eats loads of fruit and veg, whole grain etc. Any thoughts on food etc, that might have an affect, would also be helpful ?

Thanks in advance for any contributions or advice.

My first pregnancy, which was a girl, was very quiet. She never used to move at all... i was always up the hospital being checked in the later stages as i couldn't feel any movement. When she was born she was the perfect baby... bottle every 4 hours, sleeping the whole time between bottles, hardly cried. I could leave her on a mat, in playring or crib and she would just lie there, awake and happy.... Second pregnancy, and bump was wriggling all the time, constantly.. I was convinced i was having a boy as pregnancy was so different, but another little girl popped out! My mother had already warned me that i'd never have a baby like my first and she was right! This little one cried all the time, was always awake, i was lucky if she slept 30 minutes after a bottle! She is 6 now and still hyper as ever!!
my son was always moving about when i was pregnant, he never seemed to settle.

Once he was born he slept like any baby does, but we found that he moved constantly in his sleep. At 1 week old he was already wriggling down to bottom of cot in his sleep.

Even now at 7 he is a wriggler.

fingers crossed redcrx , that he turns out to be a sleepy wriggler. thanks for both of your quick replies x
My middle child was active in the womb, we used to call her the 'washing machine' baby as you could clearly see her do complete 360 turns if watching my abdomen.

She was a very happy and placid baby, as soon as she learned to walk though she was hell on legs!

She is now a mum to her own two boys and is still as active now, she can't stand to be doing nothing and is always on the go :)
