Dear Thomas,

I want a man who knows what love is all about. You are generous, kind, thoughtful. People who are not like you admit to being useless and inferior. You have ruined me for other men. I yearn for you. I have no feelings whatsoever when we're apart. I can be forever happy--will you let me be yours?

Can you write a meaningful paragraph with the word "had" repeated 7 times in a row?
Very clever, had to read it twice - sending to my English teacher who is always on about punctuation!
A woman without her man is nothing.

A woman; without her, man is nothing.
John, whereas Peter had had "had", had had "had had"; "had had" had had a better effect on the teacher.
I can't quite get my head round that one Mark.
However, I do remember the one about 'and' being used five times in a row.

The publican of “The Crown and Anchor” asked a sign painter if he could place a star, between the Crown and and, and and and Anchor.
(The Crown * and * Anchor)
> I can't quite get my head round that one Mark.

It's simple enough...

The class was doing a grammar test, and one of the questions involved auxiliary verbs.

Peter answered "had" and John answered "had had". John was correct, and his answer had had a better effect on the teacher.
