Annoyed at my sister's 'friend' . . .

My sister's best friend's sister (who my sister has socialised with in the past) has just had a baby. She saw my sister and her baby about a month ago and now she's just had her own baby . She has copied the name my sister has given to her daughter (and the middle name too!!!). As you can imagine, my sister is livid and my sister's friend is really embarrassed about it. It's not her fault and she told her sister not to copy the name. Copying the name would have been bad enough but to use the same middle name takes the biscuit.

Anyway, I want to think of something I can say on Facebook which basically says it's out of order, I want a good quote about imitation or just something good I could write.

My sister wants me to do this so it gets back. I know this might sound really silly but I'd be seething too if someone did this to me!!

Thanks

Are there actually any adults in the above scenario...............?
I would just forget about it.
I expect I would be annoyed too but will the two girls having the same names really be a problem? Will they end up at the same school, etc?
IMO miss commando. life is too short.advise your sister to forget and enjoy her baby.........

Thanks for taking the time to comment JTH ;) very nice of you
Well said, jack. It does sound like silly teenagers going off on one.
One of my colleagues copied all of my daughter's names for his baby as he thought they were lovely....I was flattered.

Yes, there's a good chance they'll end up at the same school.

The annoying thing is, the girl's mum saw my mum before her daughter had had the baby and told my mum, almost gloating that her daughter was going to copy the name.
Why is it out of order? I really can't understand why "my sister is livid" - I;d be flattered. People can (and do) call their children whatever they like - and in future years, your sister probably won't live anywhere near this friend. Many people don't have the initiative to be original so do copycat things - after all, "imitation is the sincerest form of flattery" ,so it's a tribute to your sister that the other woman likes the baby's names so much.

Don't *** on FB, it's not a pretty sight - and she's done nothing wrong. If your sister wants to do, tell her to do it herself - don't get drawn into it, IMO it really isn't anything to do with you.

Jut let it be. The two kid might be best friends some day...
^that *** word was sl@g off....
now i know why i dont use facebook, really miss c,if these two children go to the same school. its hardly the end of the world
LOL, how come 2sp gets away with ***ing and I couldn't use the short word?!

Ok, maybe I'll write something subtle. All my family think it's out of order, as does my sister's friend. There are thousands of names to choose from - why pick the same 2!

.........or you could just grow up and let it lie..........?

There are, at least, 2 other girls wandering around with my names as a direct result of *my* having them.....should I go round and punch their mothers' lights out ?!?
something subtle........................
I'd suggest one of two things...
Your sister should take it as compliment that she liked her taste in names.
OR
She may have already had those names in mind herself, particularly if they are common names at the moment.
It's just life I'm afraid... there would be a number one popular name if no one copied one another.
One of my friends has copied my hairstyle and colour, my dress sense, lifestyle choices, even is having a tattoo identical to my own and choice of babynames.
It annoys me that she copies me that much, but what can I do?
If I accuse her she'll claim that it was her plan before I even mentioned it.
