Overseas aid will be "protected from cuts but not from scrutiny", says Mr Osborne

in other words we will keep on dishing out bucket loads of money to places like Africa that will happily take it and do exactly what with it ?
they will never ever learn stand on their own feet whilst we keep giving them handouts.
It will never change.

I would have thought that under the current financial crisis we should stop doling out money to these places and use it where its needed , here in the Uk, unless of course, things arent as bad as we are being told and this is just another scam.

UK first, its a no brainer

I agree, it's probably to keep the lib dems happy so they'll support other things.
We have been giving money to Africa since the eighties. Nothing has changed, money is not the problem.
well I think SQB money is exactly the problem, not enough of it, that's why 85billion of cuts have been announced.
No I mean giving money to Africa will never solve anything, so why continue?
Well said baz, and why do we still give money to India when they spend billions on the space programme.
Oh I see, SQB, yes you are correct, no amount of money can help Africa, we can however help Chief Mumbo Jumbo buy is 57th Rolls Royce so that's something eh?
Exactly. Great innit?

Overseas aid is bribes for compliance. Hi Nigeria have some money yes BP do require an Oil Port. Hi Papua New Guinea have some money by the by theres a vate in the UN etc etc.

The Names may have been changed to protect the guilty or not.
Sure Steve but let's educate them or pay for some contraception! not just give handout after handout which solves nothing.

Seeing more and more of the natives of these countries we give aid to, are now coming to this country, shouldn't their countries now be giving aid to us?

Just a thought.
lol
/// blinkered idiots like him ///

More abuse, this time appertaining to the Pope, why?

I thought charity began at home?
There might be a slight clue in referring to the head of the Vatican as a "blinkered idiot".
Er why would someone be calling the Pope a blinkered idiot in the context of Africa?

Really? Do you seriously have to ask that?

Annual budget: £7.7bn

What's being cut: The overseas aid budget is to be protected from cuts but not the department's other costs. Budget to rise to £11.5bn over four years to meet UN aid commitment. Aid to China and Russia to stop and reduction in administration costs

Heres an idea, tell the UN "sorry old boy we are skint, we need to look after our own country first, so theres no more money for you, take it or leave it"

job done £7.7 billion saved a year , and that means theres .7billion left to use for other good causes in the UK each and every year.

Think how well off this country would be if we didnt squander money on the two most corrupt organisations in history, the UN and the EU, gravy trains par excellence, the latter learnt everything it need from the former

This is a bit of a lengthy article, but it should go some way to answering your question (rather than any ignorant guesswork from me):
