martin keisler has been stationed at a childrens hospital in pakistan for the last 4 days and nights,is anyone as distressed and i feel when watching his reports ? it is understandable why people are sceptical of donating to this disaster, given the history of the government., in my area any donations given are passed on to the people who deserve it most, ie no middle men.

These type of TV reports should be curtailed, they must upset many people, people who can do nothing about the matter, unless of course they belong to the medical profession and are prepared to pack their bags and fly to Pakistan to help out.

If TV companies were to report on the whole of world wide suffering, it would be on our screen 24/7.

And why is it mainly the Women and Children that suffer, don't Males also suffer?
Question Author
we can do something about the matter,, we can donate, and yes everyone is suffering. but as stated it is a report from a childrens hospital.
That's to pull the heartstrings AOG..
What if people can't afford to donate Anne??
Question Author

Question Author

That's what I mean Steve. It's so OTT now...

Anne...they are designed to get as much sympathy as they can so we donate. They are getting more and more upsetting. people can't help but feel guilty for not being able to help. It's human nature.
Anne I hope the ones at present who are venting their anger in the UK about a burning of their Holy Book, will spend as much energy sending a donation to help the plight of these poor people in their Motherland
Theres only so much we can donate to these people as we seem to be swamped daily by the media/TV asking for donations for fostering a tiger, an elephant, The Red Cross, RSPCA, RSPCC, RNLI, the list goes on.
Floods in Pakistan ain't our problem, if the TV images distress people then they shouldn't watch them

Whether I can or can't afford to donate isn't an issue - I wouldn't donate so much as a penny even if I was a millionaire

Charity begins at home
Like your answer docspock : -)
Lol doc. I wouldn't donate, there are many charities here at home who need our time and money. It is always the same people who are begging, their governments should take the responsibility for them, together with their relatives who have emigrated here.
