Not surprising that this study done by the religion of peace thinks so but is it the truth or do the public have an uncannlily accurate view?

well, how would anyone know unless they had an uncannily accurate view themselves? Those who wish to comment authoritatively need to be able to read Arabic, for a start.
I'd say if you're ignorant of a religion you could hardly have an accurate view of it.
Yes I am. I'm also ignorant of Judaism, Sikhism, Hinduism, Buhdism, and any other -isms you can think of.
I'm not an RE Teacher, nor am I a religious scholar, so why do I need to know much about these other religions. In fact i don't belive in any species of sky-fairy.

What is annoying is the opinion that the indiginous populace are the only ones dispalying ignorance with regards to religion. If the survey was reversed, how many Muslims would be succesfully able to to tell us all about the Buhddist faith?
I know who Mohammed was and I don't speak to anyone about thier religion.

Any sane person would agree that the religion Opresses women, if it didn't the Burka argument would be redundant.

They also state in the Quaran that they are allowed to kill the infidel and I have yet to see a coherent statement of condemnation of the acts of terrorism perpertrated in the name of Allah by the Islamic community except a statement put out by the Muslim council of Great Britain when coerced by the media.

On here I only see "certain" people when questioned trying to justify what has been done when questioned and walking away from the difficult questions.

I would say that the public have the right of it and until the Islamic community are as outraged as the rest of us, I will remain so.

Well for example it seems that 94% believe Islam opresses women. Well can anyone hand on heart say that they do not?
Islam is a religion with hundreds of millions of followers. Some of them clearly oppress women.
But remember, the Catholic Church still forbids contraception. If they had their way Catholic mothers would be having families of 14 or 15. Isn't that a form of oppression?
Not really sandy as they could abstain. Or use the natural method....the Catholic church do not put their menfolk so above the females that they can be forced into sex.

perhaps but we are talking about islam.

I don't really want to understand Islam - or any other religion because they are all delusional nonsense.

I am happy to leave Muslims in peace and not bother them provided they show me the same respect.

My 'prejudice' about Islam is that, like old/extremist christianity, there is an intrinsic element in Islam that considers it a duty above all others to help everybody 'see the light' - at point of death if necessary. Mobs of British citizens calling for the death of a writer or artist for something they have written, drawn or said is deeply unwelcome.

It is worrying that such a fundamentalist view could lie dormant for years masked by integration and moderation only to erupt in our midst at some time in the future.

Three-quarters of non-Muslims, is good enough for me.
I bet those 52 innocent victims of the London train bombings wished they had understood Islam a little better.
The story states "Study Shows UK Equates Islam With Terror"

Sounds spot on to me
I have studied Islam and I understand as much about Islam as I do Christianity . but I query the word 'understand ' . In order to truly understand any belief you also need to be a part of it. I don't believe in any religion and the more I study them the less I believe.
I fully understand why people answered in the way they did . Most terrorism is carried out by Muslems and what is more important it is not universally condemmed by the Islamic world.
I remember 7/11 and seeing Muslems cheering and dancing as they saw it happening on their TVs.

But before we condem Islam the RCs have supported the IRA bombers for the past century .
We criticise the Mullahs for supporting and hiding the extremists but isn't that exactly what
the RC clerics have been doing for generations.

I could give examples for other religions but I think that is enough . Sufficient to say I don't condem any religion as a religion they do set certain moral standards but in practice I find them hyporcritical and at times evil.
As a man I find the requirement for women to wear the burkha extremely offensive.
I am not going to be thrown in to a state of frenzy by the sight of a female face; I do not have urges to rape women that show their arms; I can and do control myself on the beach with topless women in skimpy bikini bottoms.

I do like to see the face of the person sat next to me on the bus, or asking me directions, and of those I deal with in the workplace.

I have no objections to the headscarf, or a nun's habit, or any form of head dress that leaves the face open. Surely to goodness that is not too much to ask?
Steve.5 # No I`m not, as I believe ALL religions are war mongering, brain washing techniques used to expliot people into thinking that this is the true way you should live your life.
Ban the f----- lot. #
Whilst many people would agree with you , I would like to know what is the advantage of actually banning # ALL # the religions. ? Other countries have tried banning but I don't know of any advantages. Maybe you could explain.
I think what the 'study' shows is that the Islamic publicity machine that insists that it is the religion of peace is failing badly. And I for one applaud that fact.

Islam preaches intolerance of other religions:
http://video.google.c...=2515587181120245843#

The Islamic religion / culture subjugates woman and ensures that they are merely possessions of their husbands. And the most dangerous of all – it promises the believer an eternal blissful afterlife that can be absolutely guaranteed if you kill yourself whilst murdering infidels in Allah's name.

Islam scholars from Saudi Arabia and elsewhere are used to people listening to what they have to say and simply accepting their pronouncements at face value without question. In that respect, they are ignorant of the west's relatively recent acquisition of a highly valuable survival trait – that of open scepticism to the veracity of authority.

Not that many years ago (circa 1910), bets would be won and lost based entirely on what was printed in the press; if the newspapers printed it, it must be the truth. Luckily, we now know better than to believe every single piece of propaganda churned out by organisations with political agendas.

And today's Islam is highly political – seeking to change laws to favour their world-view.
Well judging by the answers there are not many who support Islam.

Through our leaders attitude on mass immigration, the fact is we now have an ever increasing amount of Muslims living in a predominately Western/Christian country.

There is nothing we can do about this, it is far too late, but certain measures could be introduced to stop Islam increasing it's power in this country.

Limit the amount of Mosques being built.

Ban the Burka.

Stop pandering to their every whim.

Break up the Muslim ghettos that have been created in our towns and cities.

To name a few.
