his rights to sue should be taken away from him and others like him.
It,s a great pity that the prisoner who attacked him,was unable to finish the job.
I wonder how tempted the guards who are on suicide watch are to turn a blind eye..
very tempted i should think. who in their right mind would even think of taking on this case?
Money makes the world go round...
I don;t understand, if he sued the Prison any award would take into account the traima he suffered, the effect his infuries would have on his life in the future and any expense incurred by him in opbtaining medical care and attention and follow up appointments and his loss of earnings,

that all should come to a wopping £2.50 and that's for the box of plasters and some germaline
Please God, the Justice Ministry sees sense here, it would open the flood gates to any of the pond-life who says they have been attacked!
Who the flluff does this pathetic creature think he is?
He's entitled to legal aid. Sadly, it would probably be cheaper to offer him a few thou rather than contest the case in court.
cheaper still to put him in a room with the girls Dads and see if he can stand up to them, their daughters didn't have that luxury!
When this was first suggested, the then Justice department said they would fiercely resist this claim - I hope they continue to do so. If he hadn't done what he did, he wouldn't be inside, and other prisoners wouldn't seek to harm him. How dare he? - just deserts is more like it. Trauma? - think about the two little girls, Ian, and the trauma they suffered, from which they and their families can never recover.
PS, if power for dealing with crime is indeed to be handed over to the people, give him to us.
What an unimaginable piece of scum. I wonder if he gets compensation, how much he'll offer the families of Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman. I'm sure they wouldn't want it, but that's beside the point.
I agree with sandcastle. When people are convicted of crimes such as this, in my opinion all claim to human rights should be denied. This is an insult to the victims.

So yous think it okay for prisoners to inflict their own punishment as and when the whim takes them? What level of punishment is acceptable, a severe beating, permanent hadicap, murder even? The English legal system was used and a gaol sentence imposed, what gives folk in prison the special right to ignore that fact?
I don't think that's the question, TCL - it's the fact that he's being given the right to use public money to sue, and if he wins, the funds he receive will come from public money, which most of us find very hard to understand.
He committed a terrible crime, so he should take the punishment whatever that may mean. We should not have to fork out for him to sue, what did he expect after what he did. Tell him sorry but hard luck, you are here through your own fault.
He'll probably win it, his "human rights" etc, nice little earner for Legal AId scavengers. Don't forget, only a couple of weeks ago, a group of HM's guests won compensation for food poisoning after a batch of dodgy egg butties.
Who'll get the money? He's not going anywhere. Prisoners on life sentences should be stripped of their assets, past and future, that would make the case pointless.
Slightly off topic, I do wish the press would not print the iconic picture of his victims wearing their football shirts, how must their families feel to innocently open their newspaper and periodically see their beloved children.
TCL, I don't think anyone can defend this scum, be it 'law' or otherwise, I don't give a to$$ for his rights, he shouldn't have any bloody rights!!!
and £100,000 is obscenity personified!!!!
