...Kicked butt and taken names... here in the U.S., on nearly a 3 to 1 basis, people believe Bush did a better job on Katrina than Obama is doing on the Gulf. Look... when the facts are examined, once President Bush stopped relying on those that should have responded quickly to Katrina (especially FEMA) and took charge personally (which only took about 4 days, compared to Obama's 52 days) the Governors, mayors and other officials of the affected States and Cities speak well of President Bush's handling of Katrina.

The main stream press, being as they have been for decades in the right hip pocket of the Left Wing, are primarily responsible, in my opinion, of the trashing of Bush...

Having said that, I concede it's difficlut to contrast the current disaster with the former, at least in 'all' respects...
Bush was an oil man. His election campaign was bankrolled by oil companies and most of his cabinet previously worked for oil companies.

BP gave a donation of $1.1 million. to Bush's 2000 election campaign, so I suspect he would have been gentler with them.
