Anyone else noticed this phenomena?

Or is it a fact. that mostly the disabled bays are taken up by 4 X 4s or Blue Badge relatives too idle to walk, (or ????? I won't go further, in case I am accused of being racist), with no spaces left for those who can't walk?

I went to our local Morrisons a couple of days ago and we had to park in the parent and child bays, the disabled spots (where I should be able to park wth my blue badge) were full of people who didn't have blue badges.
If they don't want people to keep parking in disabled spaces then they shouldn't put them so close to the shop entrance.

Would you like my disability as well as my parking space billy?

What a stupid answer Billy!!!

Should you ever be unfortunate to sustain a dissabilty at any time during your lofe time you will learn exactly why Disabled spaces are near the entrance.

DD, who knows first hand how important these spaces are!
Daffy prehaps the disabled bays were being used by drivers with children who couldn't get into their own bays because they were all being used by blue badge holders.

It works both ways non disabled shouldn't use the blue badge bays and people without small children with them shouldn't use the parent and child bays!

It's all a matter of priorities.

Couldn't it be that all the Blue Badge spaces are taken up, and the Blue Badge holder has no other alternative but to park in the other "nearest the entrance" spaces?

Oh for gawd sake, he was joking.

Lighten up !!
The parent and child bays were practically empty!
I'm a blue badge holder and I went to our local shopping centre a few weeks ago. There were no disabled spaces so I asked the parking attendant if I could park in a mother and toddler space. He told me that 'as you have a blue badge you can park anywhere!', so I do!!

There is one local famous DIY store, that parks their trolleys in a couple of Blue Badge bays, and they have all their wheels on, how about that?
Our local Tesco always has non blue badge holders parking in
the disabled bays , it really winds me up as mrtoo is disabled and
can't walk very far . He looks fit but has heart problem...never judge
a book by it's cover ...
"that mostly the disabled bays are taken up by 4 X 4s or Blue Badge relatives "

are blue badge holders not allowed to by 4x4s?

You could drive a Ferrari Enzo and park it in the disabled bay as long as you had a blue badge. There is no law that says you must drive a normal saloon car if you have a blue badge!

Blimey do I have to spell it out??????

Since you can't comprehend, I was referring to non Blue Badge holders that park their 4X4s in the disabled bays, because the bays are wider.

Phew, some do make it hard-work.

All just Daily Mail dodgy statistics.

There are 26million cars on the roads. There are 2.5 million Blue badges which is about 10% of all cars. The Mail is complaining about 6% of spaces being allocated to Blue Badge holders.

The Mail claim that 1.4 million people are registered disabled. Not true, there are 10 million registered disabled people in the UK , 5 million of those are pensioners.

http://www.dlf.org.uk/content/key-facts

Clearly, the Mail is fed up about lying about foreigners and women, and see disabled old people as the new minority to tell lies about. Shameful really.
A lot of people think the rule applies to everyone else but them. It's what today's society thinks isn't it - "It's not about you - it's all about ME"
