Ouch!!! Wound issues :(

I was moving some furniture around a couple of weeks ago and noticed a load of blood all over my leg.

I must have caught it somehow and it was bleeding badly. It has scabbed over pretty much so not open but the skin is still very very sore for about a couple of inches over the top of it (not anywhere else round it and it's pretty red and doesn't seem to be getting any better.

I tried to take a picture (but having flash and shadow as well as logistical issues haha).

Is there anything I can do to help it heal and stop being so sore quicker?

I had a bad bout of cellulitis on my foot in the summer and am hoping it's nothing like that again, it's very red (a lot redder than on the photo). How should I tell if it has got infected or anything like that?

If I were you I would go to your GP or practice nurse - if it doesn't heal quickly (and I don't want to be scary) you could find yourself with a leg ulcer which will need special treatment long-term. I might be quite wrong but I would rather you were safe than sorry!
See your doc asap. If you have had cellulitis and this has been hanging around for that long you should at least get it checked out. First thing tomorrow, right?
That looks sore! (although I like how you can get it on a mug) I would say go and see your GP, you don't want to risk an untreated infection and if it's nothing then at least your mind is at ease.
For heaven's sake, make an emergency appointment with your GP first thing in the morning!!!!!
^^^^ Could'nt agree more with MarkRae....and you've put me off my garibaldi :0(

Good Luck..and hope you sort it out, Jenna

lol.. what a vivid imagination you have!
Hi jenna
In view of the fact that you had that horrid cellulitis ,go and see the doctor .I'm still attending hospital because of it ! If anything gets into that wound it can cause it to flare up again .Keep it clean ,put a dressing over it in the meantime to prevent any foreign bodies getting in and go to your GP soonest .Better safe than sorry .Cellulitis is no joke .

Will ring the doctors tomorrow morning, see when I can get an appointment.

It's how bad the cellulitis got last night that worries me although that was over my ankle and foot and this is on the side of the lower part of the other leg.

Thank you all for the advice, even you beejay haha :)

Will let you know how I get on.

Glad you are going to your GP Jenna. It looks quite nasty. How are all your aches and pains, etc? I am crippled up again now with sciatica and dodgy hips. :o) (as well as all the other bits and pieces!) xxx

Hello :) I have a very painful knee though it was a bit self inflicted as I went sledging at the weekend, I'm so bad, just don't want to miss out. It was so much fun though it was worth it :)

Think I've got a misbehaving rib or muscle round my left boob, keep having to remember not to hold it too much due to where it is haha :)

Been generally achey due, I think made worse due to the cold and being a bit silly and 2 and a half hours walking into work in 8 inches of snow last week when all the buses were cancelled maybe wasn't the brightest idea though I did make a new friend in a snow buddy.

I figure sometimes things are worth the pain and to get them in before it's not even an option, that I maybe physically can't rather than more suffering after.

Are you on FB?
Not on FB, but can be contacted on [email protected] which I just use for AB.
Good luck in the morning. I have an appointment on Thursday!!!! Look forward to hearing from you. x
