I am watching the live coverage and it just seems so bizarre! the last time something like this happened it was at the Munich Olympics, anyone any idea of why these terrorists (taliban I think) would target a foreign cricket team? Is it because there were British nationals on board?

The sad truth Dot is that these people don't care who they kill men women or children, any colour any creed. If you dont follow their beliefs you're the enemy
Is it not more likely to be the Tamil Tigers who are currently at war with the Sri Lankan Govmt?
gets more of a reaction
There is a faction in Pakistan that wants all foreigners out. They do not want tourists - and they want a strict Islamic state. Hitting prestige events such as this is intended to stop cultural and sporting exchanges with other countries.
It's the standard approach of the Religion of peace. These nutters want a Taliban Style fundemenatlist state. By attacking high profile visitors they hope to discourage others from visiting so they can ultimately create their loony idea of a state in Pakistan. It's Similar to what happens in Egypt on occasion when tourists are slain. Do not look for logic in their twisted minds.

I look forward to all the "moderate" Muslims condeming this.

why would anyone want to attack cricketeers? Because its so boring? Personally i would've went after those that play boules, trainspotters and stamp collectors but thats just me.

Yeah like Armed Tamil Tigers in Pakistan ? More likely than Muslim extremists ? Or could it be Martians wot dunnit ?
I heard something earlier about extremists seeing cricket as a non Muslim game
Maybe it was because the anti-homosexual terrorists did'nt do enough research and had a completely different vision in their heads when they heard that cricket was a sport where grown men throw their "balls" at other men!
I agree with hailthechimp. Cricket must be the most boring game ever invented, it's no wonder this attack took place. Hopefully they'll target golf, F1 and Wimbledon next, just leave trainspotters alone.
And they couldn't even do that right, they are not very bright these terrorists are? Nuke the middle east and have done with it, then send all the ones over here back, you never know they might get a super hero from all the fall out and have a worthy weapon for another Jihad, instead of the contents of the cupboard under the sink.

Do you know where Lahore is? (clue: it is not in the Middle East)

Not very bright are you?

As far as i am concerned they can shift the borders a bit and include Pakistan, it's not too far away and it's full of Muslims, my intended target. Maybe you would like to go there after the clear up, your geographical knowledge would be very usfull to the returning sand dancers trying to work out where things used to be.

IT just isn't cricket is it
Ok,maybe the ak-47s and rpgs were a bit over the top when they could have just clouted the cricketers over the head a couple of times with their own cricket bats and told to "sod off and find a more exciting sport"
Well it can't have been Muslims for theirs is a Peaceful religion innit ?
