According to Trevor Phillips of the Equality and Human Rights Commission, no "Barack Obama" could ever succeed in UK because of institutional racism. This I find very very droll, but also a little irritating, because as a result there could now be a huge "backlash" of political correctness resulting in the election of numbers of Black and Minority Ethnics disproportionate to their part of the population - i.e. election to positions of power purely because of their race.

Trevor Phillips is a racist, a black racist, and such a shame, because he was doing so well in highlighting the divisions in society resultant upon racial groups refusing to integrate.

And your question is......?

Sorry, add an imaginary ? to the end.
For that to work you would also need to place the "is" before "Trevor Phillips" in your final paragraph.
Question Author
Well feel free to add one there too, even though it was commentary rather than question.
The truth will out.

I'm more worried about Institutional Thatcherism in the NuLabour Party.
It's more complicated than that.

The last sentence would need to be rewritten completely.

Personally I would just add "So what do you think?" at the end of it.
Question Author
Yes, but you didn't write it, so you can't rewrite it. The last paragraph was a statement of what I believe, and a comment, not a question.
In answer to the question I think Trev is correct in that it will be a very long time before any ethnic origin other than white will be PM.

I also don't think there will be that much of a backlash, people tend to vote for the best guy rather than purely on race as happened in the US.
Sorry I've just reread that and it reand ver ambiguously. I'll have another go in a min .

In a country (UK) where the large majority of the population is White, why is there so much fuss about the potential or otherwise of a Black or Asian PM?

Is this not Racism? Should we elect a new PM BECAUSE he (or she of course) is black?
I think Trevor Phillips is correct, there won't be an ethnic minority in power in the UK for a long time as I don't think the country is ready for it to happen yet.

I don't think there will be backlash of disproportionate numbers of ethnic minorities getting elected as I think voters are more intelligent than that and will vote for the one whom they think is the best candidate regardless of whether they are white or not. Obama wasn't voted in because of his race, it was because he was the best canditate and I think most people around the world would agree he was the best candidate.
Question Author
Sorry to bang on about this, but why on earth should a minority ethnic be PM in this country just because of their ethnicity? Trevor Phillips is a menace.
-- answer removed --
this person is a danger to this country, he would like nothing more than to see the total destruction of our heritage, and identity.
he is insideous, he is like a creeping cancer and he must be stopped

know your enemy and treat him as such

we should never allow this country to be run by an "ethnic"
He's already a labour politician.....sour grapes 'cause he wasn't voted as leader of the party

We won't have a black Prime minister for some time to come as the 'Is it cos I is black' mentality will rear it's ugly head. Until the salt and vinigar are all used up everyone will see what the unspoken agenda will be rather than the spoken one.

I think it is a sad but true fact that we in Britian have forgotton how to openly debate 'sensitive' issues out of the closset and for fear of being called racist shut up and think things that perhaps aren't true.
hes a sh*t stirring b*st*rd, and thats swearing!!,
oh, and by the way, whats his annual salary?
Britain more than any country on Earth has had minority equality rammed down our throats. We are sick to the back teeth of do-gooders explaining the rights of the under privileged and under represented and backed up by laws totally against the wishes of the majority. This is a free country. If they want to put themselves forward they would get a fair hearing. The problem is this minority is not quite up to it and positive discrimination is the last thing we need to run the country
the country has for many years been run by whites disproportionate to their part in the population. Males ditto. Don't recall any of this whingeing on that subject, strangely enough.
